Ranbir deserves credit for handling the role – portrays a kid out of college coming to terms with realities of life and then working his way to success. Good movie, and definitely didn’t miss jhatka-matka. Good marks to the director and script writer.

There have been comparison to Munna Bhai and Taare Zameen Par. But if you didn’t like them I don’t know how you will feel about this one. For my part, I can say that the comparison to Munna Bhai is probably not true (except for the ragging scene?).

I would suggest that you watch the movie with an open mind and come to your own conclusions.

I am yet to watch Paa and RS. Wonder what the feedback is on that.

I haven’t found the time to watch 3 Idiots yet, but I too am told that its fantastic.. Well, I am real pleased to hear this coz I had ended my unusually negative rant on the note that I’d love to be proved wrong..

And I am glad I have been!!!

I watched 3 idiots and can only say that my thoughts and reviews are (with all due respect) 100% opposite to yours I have never loved another movie as much as this one. Me and my wife just kept laughing, and from time to time and had to wipe tears resulting from laughing in splits.

The story, direction, acting all are top notch. Kudos to Hirani for his sense of humor and timing. As you had predicted, Aamir shoulders the movie with nice support from actors all around. I just watched the movie for the 1st time yesterday and can’t wait to watch it another time (today?).

First off, my apologies if I offended you… However, I’m not apologetic for my opinions.. People are more than free to reject them. Yes, I am pessimistic about most films. Having said that, there are a number of films I have nothing negative to report.. Of the slightly older lot, films like Golmaal (the Amol Palekar one), Masoon (the Shabana-Naseer one), Khoobsurat etc. Of the more recent lot, I’d say Dev D (save for a being a tad indulgent), Dil Chahta Hai.. Of course, I’m restricting my comments here to Bollywood. In fact, you might find it interesting that I have also loved some highly disliked films. Saawariya being a case in point..

These are all such subjective matters.. The idea is not to sensationalize or get under anyone’s skin.. I’m just airing my personal views.. Cheers!
